Flexibility and scalability
of cloud IT resources
SFD S.A., the owner of the largest sports forum in Poland – potreningu.pl – faced a technological challenge. The dynamic development of the company, increasing service loads, and seasonal sales spikes meant that the current server infrastructure no longer fulfilled its role.
The dilemma was clear: expanding its own server room or migrating to an external data center? Cost analysis showed that modernizing the existing infrastructure to meet TIER 1 security standards was unprofitable. On the other hand, INFOMEX's offer provided TIER 3 compliance, power and connectivity redundancy, and most importantly - flexibility and security.
The decision? Virtual Data Center (VDC) cloud.
We completed a full migration of over 2 TB of data within 6 hours - without interruptions to service operations. The process began with the launch of a test environment in the cloud, which allowed for precise resource adjustment and preparation for the final switch.
After the migration, it turned out that the virtual environment operates much more efficiently than the physical one. This convinced SFD to fully give up the local server room and move to a flexible cloud infrastructure.
Today SFD operates 100% in the cloud:
- 50 virtual instances
- Triple data replication (HPE Apollo)
- Backups outside the cloud
- Environment management from the panel in a few minutes
The result?
Full availability, instant scaling, increased user satisfaction, and TIER 3-compliant security.
“The VDC cloud provided us not only with performance and security but also with the flexibility we needed to adapt to the dynamic needs of the business”
